Troubleshooting printing from Bp Premier

If you are having printing problems, check the following items:

  • Is the printer turned on and connected to the network port or PC?
  • Check the print monitor. If the queue is long, your document may not yet have had a chance to print. If only your print job appears, delete the print job and try to print again.
  • Is the printer out of paper?
  • Is the network cable plugged into the printer port (not the phone port)?
  • Is your PC or laptop connected to the network?
  • Ask if other people are able to print to the printer.
  • Did you send the document to the correct printer?
  • Are you low on memory? Check Windows Task Manager (press Ctrl + Shift + Esc) for memory usage.
  • Go to the printer and check that there is nothing physically wrong with the printer, for example, the printer is out of ink or paper, or there is paper jam.
  • If you find a physical problem with a printer, notify your hardware supplier as soon as possible.

If the printer is in order, check the page setup:

  1. Select FilePage setup from the word processor.
  2. Page setup

  3. Make sure that paper size is set to the correct size (almost always A4), because some printers will not print if you attempt to print to them with an unusual paper size.
  4. Once you have verified your settings, click OK. Try printing your document again.

If the page will still not print, print a test page from the printer:

  1. Select Start > Control Panel > Devices and printers. The exact path may be different, depending on your version of Windows.
  2. Right-click on the printer name and select Properties. Click Print test page.
  3. If the test page prints correctly, try printing your document again.
  4. If the test page does not print, contact your IT support technician for further assistance.
