End of Support for Previous Versions of Bp Allied

Best Practice Software regularly provides new releases of our software, so that you have the latest mandated regulatory requirements and a range of software improvements covering security features, fixes to known software issues, and new software features. However, regular software releases present an increasing challenging to our Support team to continue supporting customers using older versions of Bp Allied.

Best Practice Software will begin ceasing support for older versions of Bp Allied in late 2019. When a new version of Bp Allied is released, Best Practice Software will provide notice that support will cease for an older version in approximately seven months from that date. Ceasing Support includes removing the support for the provision of version-specific templates, old reports, minimum software requirements, and access to Bp Allied Support.

End of support for Microsoft products

Several Microsoft products that Bp Allied relies on are having their support ceased by Microsoft soon. Due to this Bp Software will be unable to support installations of BP Allied using the software identified below from the same date. These are:

  • Windows 7 - support ceases from January 14, 2020. Read about it here.
  • Windows server 2008 / 2008 R2 - support ceases from January 14, 2020. Read about this here.
  • Windows 8 & 8.1 have had mainstream support ended and are now only part of the Microsoft Extended support program. Read about this here.

If your SQL version is not on SQL 2014 or above, then the upgrade process for Version 7 will attempt to upgrade to this version as previous versions of SQL Server are no longer supported.

End of Support for Syncing in Bp Allied

Microsoft has notified Best Practice Software of the end of support for the .Net syncing framework, used in Bp Allied’s synchronisation function. The end of support means that this framework will cease to receive functionality improvements, vulnerability patching, and security updates from Microsoft.

Due to the end of Microsoft support, Best Practice Software will end support for the Bp Allied synchronisation feature on 30 September 2022. After this time, Bp AlliedSupport will no longer be able to assist practices regarding the syncing functionality in Bp Allied. The synchronisation feature will be disabled in a future program update.

Best Practice Software recommend that practices who currently use the syncing functionality get in touch with our Sales Team to discuss what this change may mean for your practice and alternatives.

Healthsite Online Appointment Booking Discontinuation

The Bp Allied Online Booking option previously used Healthsite Online Booking, a third party vendor to integrate between the Bp Allied database and the application. Healthsite was acquired by Healthengine in 2022, and the Online Booking System has been discontinued. All references and functions related to online booking have been removed from Bp Allied.

For more information on this change, refer to the Healthsite Online Booking System FAQ - For Practices web page.
