While we recommend updating to each new version of Bp Premier as it is released, Best Practice Software understands that practices may continue to use older versions of the software for individual reasons, and may even be running a version that is technically sunset, or more than two versions old.
If your practice is running Bp Premier version Orchid or Saffron, you may not be able to upgrade to the latest version (currently Oxford SP1) with one upgrade action. You may need to upgrade to an ‘interim’ version first, and then upgrade to Oxford SP1, which contains key features including changes for Assignment of Benefit introduced in July 2026.
For older versions of Bp Premier, the upgrade path can be summarized as:
- If you are still on version Saffron (1.11.0.924), upgrade to Saffron SP2 (1.11.2.952) first.
- Upgrade to Saffron SP3.
- Upgrade from Saffron SP3 to Orchid SP1 Revision 1.
- Upgrade from Orchid SP1 Revision 1 or later to Oxford SP1.
