A diabetes risk assessment tool is available from the patient record in Bp Premier.
The Australian Type 2 Diabetes risk assessment tool was developed by the International Diabetes Institute (AUSDRISK). For further information on this tool, visit https://www.health.gov.au/ and search for 'diabetes risk assessment tool'.
- Open the patient's record in Bp Premier.
- Select Clinical > Diabetes risk from the menu. The Diabetes risk calculator screen will appear.
- Answer all the questions in the tool. The tool will calculate a final score in the last field and display a message regarding the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Details will be pre-populated if known from the patient's demographics and past history (for example, 65 years or over, presence of anti-hypertension).

Description: The Diabetes Risk Assessment Tool calculates a probability of the patient developing Type II Diabetes in the next five years, based on measurements of several known risk factors.
