TX Utility Errors
If you receive 'Tx Control' errors while working with or viewing documents in Bp Premier, some of which may cause Bp Premier to exit to desktop, Best Practice Software have made available a Tx Control Utility to resolve these issues. These error messages will start with 'TX' or 'TXTEXT', such as 'TXTEXT:SAVETOMEMORYBUFFER LINE: 36'.
Follow the instructions below on the computer that is producing TX errors. Because Bp Premier must be briefly shut down on the PC while you run the utility, you may wish to run the utility outside of normal practice hours if running the Tx utility on the server.
IMPORTANT If Bp Premier is installed in a Terminal Server or Citrix environment, follow the steps below outside of normal practice hours, on the Terminal or Citrix Server, and ensure that there are no active sessions or user profiles connected.
Unregister Tx Text Control
- Close down Bp Premier on the server or workstation.
- Download the TX_Register32-15.exe utility from the Best Practice Software website here.
- Right-click the TX_Register32-15.exe file and choose Run as Administrator.
- If you are shown a Windows User Account Control screen, choose Yes.

The TX Text Control utility will appear and shows the Practice name, system state and the following details:
- Operating System
- Username : date time
- Computer name
- Domain name
- Administrator status
- Virtual Machine Environment
- Bp Premier version
- Tx Text Control path
- Tx Text Control file name and registration state
- Any files that may be missing from the systems TX Text Control Bin folder.
- Select Unregister Current Tx Text Control OCX and click Next.
- When the process has completed, click Finish.
Click Next to continue
Register and reinstall TX Text Control
- Right click on the TX_Register32-15.exe utility again and choose Run as Administrator.
- If you are shown a User Account Control screen, choose Yes.
- Tick Re-Install Tx Text Control 32.
- Select Register Current Tx Text Control OCX and click Next.
- When the process has completed, click Finish.

The output log file from running and completing this utility TxTextControl_Log.txt is in the following location: C:\ProgramData\Best Practice\Log\.
The TxTextControl_Log.txt format and information matches the Tx Text Control Utility on screen display. It writes the collective current data or system state prior to running and then the post data or system state after the changes were made at the close of the utility.
NOTE The following keys are added to the registry: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Best Practice Software\Best Practice\General, TXT_PATH, VirtualMachine, TxRegister_User
You can now restart Bp Premier.
