Secure Messaging

There are various secure messaging protocols available for use within Australia. In general, different States use different protocols. There are three protocols currently supported by myPractice; these are Referral Net, Argus Connect and Medical Objects. It is usual that only one protocol be used for sending secure messages. Details on these protocols are available both below and also on our website. Click here for how to send a secure message from myPractice.

Secure Messaging
1

Referral Net

1. Referral Net
Tick the Active tickbox
Enter in the ReferralNet Account and password details as setup with ReferralNet
Enter the PKI Certificate Email address
  • The PKI certificate is an encryption infrastructure used by ReferralNet to enable the encrypting and decrypting (hence securing) of email messages. These certificates are managed by Medicare and are a required part of using ReferralNet. There is a email address that is designated for use with each PKI Certificate. This needs to be entered into myPractice.
  • The PKI Certificate is allocated to a site rather than to an individual.

For full details on completing the myPractice side of the ReferralNet setup either click here or on the Referral Net Configuration Help link within the Options page (shown above) which links to http://www.mypractice.net.au/ReferralNet
2

Argus Connect

2. Argus Connect
Tick the Active tickbox
Enter in the Argus Database Computer Name
  • If the Argus database is running on the same computer as myPractice, the Argus Database Computer Name to be entered is "localhost". Otherwise, it is the Computer Name or IP Address of the computer hosting the Argus Database.
Enter the Argus Password
  • The default argusadmin password is "masterkey".

Argus Connect also requires a PKI Certificate - http://screencast.com/t/ZdlQLFUqihx8
