Bp Allied Sunset 2026

Bp Allied has supported the allied health community for many years, and we are genuinely grateful for the trust practices have placed in us over that time.

As technology, security expectations and regulatory requirements have evolved, the platform that Bp Allied was originally built on is now reaching the limits of what it can reliably support. Continuing to maintain it would make it increasingly difficult for us to deliver the level of performance, security and innovation that practices rightly expect today and into the future.

We are also seeing rapid change across the allied health software landscape, with solutions becoming more specialised and better equipped to support the way modern practices operate. To ensure customers have access to technology that can continue to grow with them, we need to focus our investment on platforms designed for long-term scalability and adaptability.

With this in mind, we have made the very difficult decision to sunset Bp Allied on 31 July 2026. We understand this is a significant change, and we are committed to supporting customers every step of the way. This will include clear transition pathways, data export tools, migration guidance, and support to help identify practice management software that best suits each practice’s needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there alternative Bp products customers can move to?

Bp Premier is used by many allied health professionals in both general practice and specialised allied health clinics. Bp Premier may be suitable for some customers, and we encourage you to explore this option with our Account Management team.

Additionally, many dedicated Allied Health software providers in the market have been working with us to offer special deals to our Bp Allied customers. We are therefore encouraging practices to review their needs and explore suitable alternative practice management systems on the market.

What alternate PMS can we suggest moving to?

To ensure a smooth transition, Best Practice has compiled a list of providers for you to choose from. Each of these providers has also provided specific offers for Bp Allied customers who choose to use their services. Please reach out directly to these providers for more information.

See the list of Bp Recommended Vendor options for more information.

We have customised Bp Allied and no other software will support this customisation, what can I do?

We understand that moving to another PMS software can be a challenging process, as different programs offer both positives and negatives. Best Practice would suggest working with prospective vendors, to see how they can bridge the gap.

Users can continue to use the software; however, we recommend that you review the FAQ 'What happens if we are still using the software beyond 31 July 2026?' to understand the risks.

This can be booked in with our team, please allow a minimum of 5 business days to organise a data export.

We are a hosted client. What will happen when we move to another PMS?

SMS Comms

I have purchased a large SMS Comms pack that won’t be used by 31 July 2026, can I get a refund or can I use it outside of Bp Allied?

Our Bp Comms packs are used within Bp Allied and cannot be used outside of the Bp product for which they were issued. Practices with an excess of SMS credits prior to the announcement are encouraged to contact our Account Management team to discuss potential remedies. Any Bp Comms pack purchased beyond the retirement announcement will not qualify for any remedies.

Security and Risk

How can we ensure data security when using unsupported hardware and software?

This is not recommended as unsupported software poses risks.

If you choose to continue to use Bp Allied after 31 July 2026 (desktop only), we recommend to:

  • Keep systems isolated from the internet as much as possible.
  • Maintain strong backups and encryption.
  • Limit access to only essential users.
  • Complete a system backup prior to undertaking any wider system updates as this may impact functionality within Bp Allied.

How can we plan for and manage the retirement process to minimise risks and disruptions to our business operations?

  • Start evaluating alternative software options early, moving to another vendor does take time.
  • Plan your migration timeline well before 31 July 2026.
  • Build in time to transition to a new PMS vendor. This can help mitigate any impact on your day-to-day operations.

What are the potential impacts on productivity, efficiency, and customer satisfaction with unsupported software?

Though difficult to determine, the following could occur if you continue using Bp Allied beyond 31 July 2026:

  • Increased risk of system downtime or errors.
  • Higher security risks (including data breaches).
  • Lack of access to support.
  • Inability to meet compliance obligations for record-keeping and privacy.

Which ultimately affects client confidence and business continuity.
