Bulk Bill Claims (AU)

Medicare Bulk Bill a consultation, including in-patient episodes. The financial summary report indicates whether an invoice has been batched and submitted.

Bulk Bill a Consultation

  1. Click F3 and run an OPV to ensure that the patients Medicare details are correct.
  2. Tick the Bulk Bill tick box on the Patient Details screen.
  3. The Bulk Bill tick can be unselected at the time of billing.

  4. Select the patient appointment, click the F5 Consultation button.
  5. MSTD is displayed as the Subsidiser in the invoice and there is no Feescaler.

  6. Enter the Item Code/s.
  7. The Print Form tick-box is selected by default.
  8. The Subsidy column displays the debit sent to Medicare.

  9. Click the OK button to display the Medicare Claim Benefit DB4 form.
  10. Print the form so that the Patient can sign the form.
  11. Click F8 to display the patient's Transaction screen.
  12. B in Batch column = billed but not batched

    B#000 in Batch column = billed and batched

Bulk bill a Medicare in-patient episode

  1. Click F3 and run an OPV to ensure that the patients Medicare details are correct.
  2. Tick the Bulk Billed tick box on the Patient Details screen.
  3. The Bulk Billed tick can be unselected at the time of billing.

  4. From the patient appointment, click the F5 Consultation button.
  5. Enter Medicare Hospital in the Subsidiser field.
  6. Enter the Item Code/s.
  7. NOTE  The In-Patient status and Hospital should default through to the invoice form the operation booking.

  8. The Print the Form tick-box is selected by default.
  9. The Subsidy column displays the debit sent to Medicare.

  10. Click the OK button to display the Medicare Claim Benefit DB4 form.
  11. Print the form so that the patient can sign the form.

The Financial Summary before and after batching

Bulk billed invoice totals will not affect the Billed Total column in the Financial Summary until they are batched. The Total Fee column will display what has been billed to the patient only.
