Create a Label Template


Labels can be created either using the Label Wizard or manually using the Create New Label Template. However, the Label Wizard does not allow you to create a Template for future use. To do that the Create New label Template option needs to be used.
 
When you need to print out labels, for example, address labels you need to purchase the appropriate paper. Every supplier will provide it's own specific label size or label position within a paper sheet. When creating labels the details of the labels purchased will need to be entered into the Label Setup. There is usually a picture with this information on the packet like that below.
 
 
Create a Label Template

Fields available to be included in a label
Put the cursor in the required spot on the label
Double click on a field to insert it into the Label

Merge Fields

Fields as they will be laid out on the label.
The { } are required as these denote merge fields as opposed to straight text.

Format the fields using the toolbar options

Label Size

Edit the required label size.

Enter in the number of labels on the sheet

Space between labels

These values are the difference between the Horizontal or Vertial Pitch and the label Width and Height.

Enter in the margin sizes

Click OK to save
 
The label Template will display.
 
To edit the template
Right Click anywhere on the template
Click Edit this Template
 
Click Save Template to save it for future use.

Save Settings

Choose Save Settings to save the default values displayed when going to create a template.
