Important Update on 1 July 2026 Assignment of Benefit Changes

Following the announcement on the 18th of June from the Australian Government and Department of Health, Disability and Ageing regarding changes to the Assignment of Benefit (AoB) reforms due to commence on 1 July 2026, please see this update on what this means for your Practice and how Best Practice Software will support you through the transition.

Bp Comms Alpha Tag Changes 1 July 2026

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is introducing a new SMS Sender ID Register from 1 July 2026. This reform is designed to protect Australians from scam and spam text messages.

The ACMA has already demonstrated its enforcement approach, having issued fines to Tabcorp, Lululemon, and Lycamobile for breaching spam requirements including sending messages without proper consent or adequate sending identification.
