This article answers some frequently asked questions about the National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR).
Yes, you will need to configure FHIR on your network before using NCSR.
FHIR is an acronym for Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources.
FHIR is a standard for health care data exchange, published by HL7®.
You will need to register your organisation before accessing NCSR. Once this is done, all providers and practice staff can access the NCSR Hub. There is no need to register individual providers.
Once enabled, you can access the NCSR Hub by opening the View drop-down menu from the top of the patient's clinical record. At the bottom of the list you will find two options: 'NCSR Hub' and 'NCSR Forms'.
You can also access the hub via the Notification panel within the patient record. If there are any outstanding actions (e.g., patient is overdue as per our record), it will be displayed in RED in that section and you can double click on the text and it will re-direct you to the NCSR Hub.
For instructions on setting up the NCSR at your practice, see Set up NCSR Integration.
BreastScreen Australia is a joint initiative of the Australian Government and state and territory governments. The Australian Government provides overall policy direction, and state and territory governments deliver the program at the local level.
The NCSR does not include BreastScreen Australia data because each state and territory are responsible for recording and managing client information, and for operational activities like issuing invitations and managing bookings.

Due to additional criteria required for these imaging requests, it is not currently possible to generate the NLCSP Low-Dose CT scan requests using the regular imaging eOrdering workflow in Bp Premier.
Practices must use a dedicated Word Processor template to submit NLCSP Low-Dose CT Scan requests. The NLCSP request form has been included as a Word Processor template in Bp Premier.
See Using the NLCSP Low-Dose CT Scan Request Template in Bp Premier for more information.
