This article explains how to merge client or patient records in Bp Omni.
You can merge client or patient records from the Patient list in the Address book. For example, your clinic may have converted to Bp Omni from a previous application or you may have duplicate patient records present in the database.
How to merge a patient
-
From the Address book, select the ellipsis next to the patient record you want to keep (the master record)
-
Select Merge patient
- If the system is set up for Physitrack, you will be shown a warning message indicating that the Physitrack merge needs to be completed before merging. Select Continue to merge if this is completed
-
Search for and select the duplicate patient, using the comparison data to ensure you have selected the correct master and duplicate records
- Select Continue.
IMPORTANT Demographic data is not copied. In cases where the merge needs to select one attribute, the most recent version will be used. When the merge does not need to select one attribute, the duplicate attributes will be associated with the master record.
The next time you visit the Address book, the duplicate will not appear unless specified via the filter in the Address book.
How to reactivate a merged patient
NOTE Merging a patient is not a reversible process. Reactivating a merged patient is only for scenarios where information related to the duplicated patient needs to be reviewed, this will not reverse the merge process.
To temporarily reactivate a patient from the Address book:
-
Select Filter > Merged to view merged patients
-
Select the ellipsis next to the patient name and then select Reactivate patient.
-
Re-merge the patient once you have reviewed the information.
