This article explains how to set up SMS and email communications and templates in Bp Omni.
Enable communications
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen, and select Settings.
- From the menu on the left of the screen, click Practice &locations.
- Scroll down the page until you reach Communications.
- Toggle the Send confirmation of appt switch to Yes.
- Click Save.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen and select Settings.
- From the menu on the left of the screen, click Config > Comms templates. The Comms templates screen will appear.
- Click + Template in the top-right corner. The Patient Communication template screen will appear.
- Give the template a Name.
- Select a Type of template to create.
- Select a template to use or modify from the Pre-loaded templates if required.
- Use the # Insert field to insert data fields into the template.
- Select Set as default template for this template type if required.
- Click Save & Close in the top Templates header.
TIP Use the ellipses [...] button in the Actions column to Edit, Duplicate or Delete an existing template.
A preview of your template with populated insert fields will display on the right-hand side of the template.
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen and select Settings.
- From the menu on the left of the screen, click Config > Comms schedules. The Comms schedules screen will appear.
- Click + Schedule in the top-right corner. The Appointment Reminder screen will appear.
- Give the reminder a Name.
- Set the number of day(s) before the appointment that the reminder should be sent.
- Enter a Reminder time to schedule when reminders will be sent.
- Toggle the What days should reminders be sent? toggle to Advanced to set reminders by week day.
- Choose an appointment Type from the dropdown list of options.
- Select a template from the dropdown list.
- Click Save in the top rightmost corner of the screen.
NOTE Templates cannot be customised for users in New Zealand.
Communication preferences are set when editing the patient, client, organisation or individual's demographic details from the Address book.
Select EMAIL or SMS from the dropdown selection for:
- Reminders.
- Confirmation messages.
- Billing correspondence.
- Online forms.
