How secure is the outgoing email function? | Email is inherently insecure; practices should use caution when deciding to use the email functions in Bp Premier. Using a PIN protected PDF on the document may assist in securing the content of the document to ensure it is received by the intended recipient. |
Can I send invoices, items from Correspondence In, or any documents other than those created in the word processor from Bp Premier via email? | At this stage, it is only possible to send documents that have been created via the word processor via email from Bp Premier. |
Will sending emails from Bp Premier use SMS credits, or cost my practice anything? | No, when using the inbuilt outgoing email function, this will use the practice’s email services, not Bp Comms services. |
What outgoing email providers are supported with Bp Premier? | Bp Premier now supports TLS encryption which is used by many large public email providers. This works on an outgoing port 587. |
When sending an email with a PIN-protected PDF, does the PIN number get sent to the recipient along with the document? | No, the PIN will not accompany the document, and should be communicated to the recipient at your discretion. |
How do I communicate the PIN for the document to the recipient? | This is at your practice’s discretion. One suggestion is to create a Bp Comms template that can be sent from the clinical record to a patient and updated to include the PDF PIN. Also, keep in mind that the default PIN is the patient’s date of birth (DDMM). |
Do emailed documents get uploaded to My Health Record? | If you wish to upload the eReferral to My Health record, you can use the ‘eReferral’ supplied template when creating your document, and this will upload directly. |
Will there be a reverse updating of a contact, or patient’s email address? So, if the contact has no email address recorded in Bp Premier, but I enter it into the To: field, will Bp Premier ask whether I want to update the contact entry? | No, this is not currently supported, you would instead need to manually update the contact or the patient’s demographic. |
When adding ‘duration’ information to a short-term prescription, will this information be included on an eScript? | This information is included in the patient instructions section of eScript tokens, and is also visible on printed prescriptions. |
When recording duration on a prescription, does specifying the number of days to take a prescribed medicine automatically adjust the quantity to what is needed for that number of days? | No, this does not automatically adjust the quantity prescribed, but this information will be included as part of the complex instructions for the patient. |
Is the ability to force a user to reset their password on next login available for existing users, or only new users? | This functionality is available for both new and existing users. For new users, this will be selected by default so that they are forced to change their password upon first login. |
Can I perform a concession eligibility check in bulk like I can with a bulk patient verification? | No, at this time the concession eligibility check can only be performed for individual patients. |
Will the ‘Verified date’ for an OPV check be visible if I perform these in bulk? | Yes, you will be able to find the Verified Date in the patient’s demographic whether this was validated individually, or in bulk. |
