The National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR) has developed a non-proprietary and standardised common interface (REST FHIR API 2.0) to enable Best Practice to integrate and allow users to access and report clinical data seamlessly to the National Cervical Screening Program (NCSP) and National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP).
The NCSR enables a single electronic record for each person in Australia participating in cervical and bowel screening, and plays a vital role in supporting these programs by inviting, reminding and following up participants to screen.
The NCSR generates comprehensive data to inform policy and improve program quality and service delivery. It also gives healthcare providers access to their patients’ health information and makes it easier for program participants to take control of their health. This article explains how to set up integration with the NCSR at your practice.
